Why Proper Walkways Matter

Each type has its own requirements. A residential walkway needs a smooth finish for bare feet. An equipment pad needs extra thickness to handle weight. Side yard paths need to be narrow enough to fit but wide enough for maintenance access.
We also do decorative finishes on flatwork. Stamping, coloring, and exposed aggregate all work great on sidewalks and paths. You can have a walkway that looks like stone pavers or brick but with the durability and low maintenance of concrete.
How We Install Your Walkways
Everything starts with excavation. We dig out the path area to the right depth, which depends on your soil and what the walkway will handle. We're not just scraping the surface. We create a proper base that won't shift or settle over time.
Next comes the base material. We use crushed stone that compacts well and drains water away from the concrete. This step makes the difference between a walkway that lasts 30 years and one that cracks in 3. We compact everything thoroughly with the right equipment, not just hand tampers that don't do the job.
Forms go in next to create the shape and edges of your walkway. We set everything to proper grades for drainage. This is where experience really shows. Getting slopes right so water runs off but you don't notice you're walking uphill takes skill and the right tools.
When we pour, we use concrete designed for Florida's weather. The right mix resists our heat and occasional cold snaps. We finish the surface with the texture you want, whether that's smooth, broomed for grip, or stamped with patterns. Control joints go in the right places to direct any cracking where you won't see it.
Curing is the final critical step. Concrete gets its strength as it cures, not as it dries. We make sure your new walkway stays moist enough during the first week so it hardens properly. This means you get concrete that performs the way it should for decades.
